Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in Osun State has been shut down by the institution’s management.
The closure of the University comes on the heels of the death of a 400 level student of the Department of Foreign Language by the name Aishat Omowumi Adesina.
An inside source told The Precision NG that the student allegedly died at the institution’s health centre.
Following her death, students protested for hours blocking the Ife-Ibadan and Ife-Ede highways.
They attributed her death to negligence on the part of workers at the health facility.
A statement by the management noted that the students are to vacate the campus and hall of residence on or before 12pm on Saturday.
