Noting the failure in the realization of objectives of the traditional large-scale workshops in Nigeria to improve the quality of teaching and learning, NIEPA Nigeria Ondo has adopted a new position towards improving the quality of education sector managers by keying into the Cluster School-Based Teacher Professional Development model introduced by UBEC.

According to NIEPA’s boss, Professor Olivet Jagusah, mni, the aim is to ensure that all education managers and planners who may not be able to attend capacity building programmes at NIEPA, can meet with those who already attended, at least every quarter to plan, strategize and evaluate different aspects of the education sector as it applies to them.

According to the Don, this will help education planners and managers develop the spirit of teamwork, mentor the less experienced, share ideas and innovative methods.

Speaking on behalf of the Ogun SUBEB chairman at a training workshop organized to cascade lessons and experiences garnered during a previous workshop held at NIEPA, Director School Services, Mrs Agbatogun Jokotade, said the programme was set up to ascertain the level of implementation of new ideas and skills acquired.

She elaborated that the chairman, Dr Femi Majekodunmi approved Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th January 2022 for all four Divisions in the state (Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, Ilaro and Abeokuta) to hold their cluster programmes.

The Director of School Services stressed the importance of the workshop and urged all teachers in the divisions to pay rapt attention to benefit maximally.
