There is a Biblical saying that “seek ye first the kingdom of God and all other things shall follow”.

It is on this premise that Hon. Dr Bode Ayorinde placed his thrust in his bid to govern Ondo state with the main mission to industrialize the State.

Since democracy is participatory, Dr Ayorinde set out on June 13, 2020 to begin his journey to Alagbaka by meeting PDP delegates across the states. It has became imperative to meet the kingmakers (delegates) according to Dr Ayorinde in order to tell them what the Hope Alive (Aseyori 2020) is bringing to the table if given the party ticket and eventually won the October governorship election. Prior to this tour, Dr. Bode Ayorinde has traversed the 18 Local Governments to meet the Leaders of the Party for same purpose.

The tour tagged meet the delegates engaged Dr Ayorinde and his entourage for seven days. From Ondo West to Akure South, the tour took the Hope Alive team of Dr Bode Ayorinde to the 21 voting areas of the state.

In all the meetings, Dr Ayorinde reinforced his mission for vying for the coveted seat of the state, to industrialize the state. According to him, his first mission in government is Industrialisation, the second is Industrialisation and the third is Industrialisation.

His reason was simple. Ondo state in its 44 years of creation has paid lip service to industrial development with her concentration on civil service economy. He emphasized the achievements recorded at Achievers University which was established 12 years ago as the first private varsity in the whole of Ondo and Ekiti states.

According to him, Achievers University has changed the narrative at Idasen community where the institution is located to a big community within the spate of a decade. This he said would be replicated in all the 21 voting blocs of the state with the establishment of one big factory in each Local Government Area that would generate direct and indirect employment to a large number of people.

The question as to how to achieve this feat would then arise. Dr Ayorinde as a consultant in international funding knows where to go when it comes to funding. With his background in Banking and Financial Management, he surely knows where the funds are. After all, at the age of 43 years, his idea of building a University was conceived and today the institution has turn the tide of history.

Today, Idasen community hosting the University is better for it. A plot of land sold for peanuts 12 years ago is now sold for millions. The major road that leads the community to the other towns is now tarred and buildings are springing up day by day. This is a clear example of what industrialization can achieve for the society, so I have no doubt in my mind that Dr Ayorinde will engineer the industrialization of the state as promised.

During the tour, Dr Ayorinde also emphasized the need for the present power shift to the northern senatorial district of the state to be retained. According to him, the other districts are equally qualified to contest and be voted for, but that it is only fair and just for the Northern District to complete the statutory Eight years mandate. That is why in his declaratory speech, he harped on a single term of fours years to complete the second term of the District. This he reinstated during all his meetings with the PDP delegates.

Dr Ayorinde at all the fora also harped on peace and unity in the party. For him, the primaries is just a stepping stone to the bigger challenges ahead which is ultimately to win and return the PDP to the good old days of people oriented governance. He said, if we are not friends before the primaries, we won’t be friends after the primaries. So his words are that the PDP delegates must see all the aspirants as capable. Since only one person can fly the party’s ticket, he urged the delegates to vote for him as he is the only aspirant with the midas torch that can chase APC and Aketi team out of Alagbaka.
