The Imam of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) Muslim community, Prof. Taofiq Adesina Azeez has added his voice to the many voices calling for the sack of the service chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Prof. Azeez, a lecturer in the Department of English language, UniAbuja also called for the reconstitution of the present presidential taskforce on covid-19.
Azeez added that the activities of the taskforce in the last one year should be scrutinized, adding that the activities of the service chiefs since 2015 should be probed.
The Don in a state of the nation statement released to The Precision NG on Tuesday and titled, “The Drift: Time to Act”, harped on the public audit of the cost of fighting insurgency and COVID-19 across the nation.
He also advised President Buhari to convene a national conference of all religious and traditional rulers to proffer divine and traditional solutions to Nigeria’s critical security, economic and health challenges.
“Everyone is worried about insecurity and its implications on food production, security and economic tragedy in Nigeria.
“Only few are, however, worried about the consequences of global advocacy for emergency vaccine production and administration to citizens at great costs to poor and corrupt countries.
“We seem to look away from the effects of possible permanent health hazards arising from production and administration of fake “vaccines” and the certainty of all these causing more deaths and worsening the people’s suffering.
“The presence of fake vaccines have been reported while Government is slowly, as usual, preparing to make citizens accept the official ones. Either case, citizens would not only lose their scarce resources but their lives.
“When we add this to the sure anarchy that is imminently beckoning as the best response to overwhelming insecurity, the results are better imagined.”
