As different political parties are warning up to present a worthy flag bearer to represent their party in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, many candidates have shown interest in the number one man’s seat of the state.
One of them is Paul Orajiaka of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who on Wednesday 2nd of June was at the party National Secretariat to submit his expression of interest form.
Briefing the News men, the young and vibrant entrepreneur and scholar minced no words in rolling out his agenda for the Light of the Nation (Anambra).
Responding to the question on what he is bringing on board to outperform the present governor of the state, he said:
“The fact that I am coming prepared from an entrepreneurial background for a state that is known for trade and commerce, it is not what the present governor has in his curriculum vitae. I am bringing in freshness, youthfulness and sound passion to make a change which we don’t see in this current dispensation. To a large extent, these key things I have mentioned; youthfulness, preparedness in all fronts, education and business stand me well among the pack.
“Over the years, I have taken time to traverse the over 21 local government councils. And, I came out with a finding that was subjected to an empirical research which will give us the solutions that we are going to drive in Anambra.
“My pursuit for this governorship position is tied on 3 solid tripods. First is my entrepreneurial success, secondly my education attainment, thirdly and most importantly, my love and passion for people.”
According to him, his love for people has been demonstrated through many impacts Paul Orajiaka foundation has been making in the society, ranging from Youths empowerments to medical outreach which are all in the public domain.
“The greatest sin any man can commit is when you know you have what it takes to lead a change, yet you keep quiet. That’s why having looked at the current situation of things in our dear state, I know I have what it takes to bring about the desired transformation” replied Orajiaka when asked what brought about his interest in politics despite his academic and career achievements.
“With an agenda, we called SHEEER which stands for Security, Health, Education, Employment, Electricity and most importantly Road which is going to bring about an interwoven solution to the challenges in the state, I tell everybody willing that we are going to make it happen with a resounding victory come November 6 general election.
“I believe in communal efforts and one purpose towards a common goal to achieving victory and that’s why I have been supporting this party from the ward, local government and to the state level to build APC of our desire in Anambra State.”
Paul Orajiaka, whose interest in business started from childhood is not just a successful business man but also a scholar. He is a graduate of Accounting from the University of Lagos. His passion towards proffering lasting solution to challenges faced by Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME) in the country prompted him to pursue masters degree in Business administration in the Henley Business School, University of Reading in the United Kingdom and he’s currently a research associate with a doctorate degree in view in the same University. His quest and love for good governance also propelled him to bag his fourth masters degree in public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the US.
He is the founder and chairman of Auldon Group, a firm that manufactures and sells African-themed toys, in particular Unity Dolls. He’s happily married to a virtuous woman with 5 children.
